Sponsor a Child.....Make a Difference this Holiday

Well the time of year that we all love has arrived, a time for remembering Christ’s birth long ago!! It is the time when our love and thankfulness is very abundant. A time of year that we show compassion and our hearts “warm“ with each gift we give to others.

I am asking you to open your heart to those in need this Christmas. The holidays are a difficult time for the children and youth in our Upstate’s shelters. These children do not have a “family” to spend time with during the holidays. Let’s help these children experience Christmas by showing them that there are others that care for them. (Even though they do not have a family) All of the workers at these shelters do there best to show love and compassion for these kids on a daily basis, but the kids need to see that we care. This is where many of us can step in and help give hope this holiday season.

Many of you can remember creating a “Wish List” for Santa when you were kids!! I know many of you reading this have children of you own who are working on that list right now…there is a glow in their eyes each time they think of something else to add to it. The children and youth in the shelters are no different…they also have a growing wish list! Yes, I know…just as each of you know… that Christmas is not all about gifts. I do know that most of us love to and look forward to “giving” gifts this time each year!

In the next few weeks, I will be posting “Wish Lists” from children and youth that live in our local Upstate shelters. The names on each list will be changed for security purposes, so please no “Initial/Monogram” gifts. Keep in mind that it is our place to step up and Love one Another!!!!

Let go of Pride....

Acts 17:24-28

Let go of Pride.. ..
It is only because of God that we live, move, and breathe. God is bigger than we are, larger than our churches, and grander than the world. God does want your life, your love, and your humble praise.
God made us to seek him and reach out to find him. He sacrificed his son so we could have a relationship with him.

Let go of Pride.. ..
Step out on faith and act on what it is that God is asking you to do for him. No matter your situation, your position in society, or your personal goals…….. ..do it all with faith and allow him to use you for his will.

Let go of Pride.. ..
When you feel overwhelmed by problems or people in your life, cry out to God and he will hear you. (Psalm 27:5)-Many times we may not understand the “road” we are on in life (psalm 28:14)-but God will show you his plans. They will unfold when he is ready to reveal them in your life. It is at that time you will be able to look back and know the reason for the “rocky road” you previously did not understand.

Let go of Pride.. ..
I am so blessed to see God’s will for my life and this journey he has planned for my family. His plans are awesome and they have unfolded just at the “right time….. .. HIS time
Therefore, as I end tonight, I ask that you would let go of pride and focus on the fact that God is waiting to show you his will for your life.. .. .. Take a leap of faith in what he has planned for you!!

Compassion

Arrogant. Overfed. Unconcerned. Those words could easily describe our society in general. It is so easy to get so consumed by your own life that you don't look beyond yourself to see the needs of others.

This was Sodom's sin. (ezekiel 16:49-50)

I ask that you would take your eyes off yourself and start seeing the needs of others. Seek ways you can help the needy and less fortunate who are all around you. There are opportunities at every avenue in your life. If you would like more information on how to help in your area, please contact us and we can plug you into many local needs.

If you aren't sure where to start and need guidance please let me know, I will find resources for you. Many of you are from areas outside the Upstate of SC, but don't let that keep you from plugging into your community. Love Another is willing to take the hassle out of the process and connect you directly with those in need.

~A blessed day to each of you and may you bless someone else~

Back to School Project

Hello to all, I hope your summer has been awesome so far! I am sure you all have been busy just as my family and I have been.

I want to share with you guys a project that I am going to need help with during the next several weeks. As many of you know it is our mission through this ministry to touch others and to let them know that someone loves them. With school starting back soon and all of you parents getting ready to send your kids in for the first day fully prepared, I want you to be aware that there are many children within our own communities that don't have that privilege of going to school the first day fully prepared. It may be the case in which they do not have anyone that loves them or cares for them enough to get them the items they need to be successful in school. The situation may be that, as for many of the children we help with this ministry, they are in group home settings and never get the opportunity to have these items provided for them. Therefore, it is with my whole heart that I believe we can all come together and reach out to these children in need. I do ask that you consider this act of giving and make an effort to reach out to a child in need of LOVE!!

We are looking for basic school supplies such as:
  • Backpacks
  • Notebooks
  • Paper
  • Binders
  • Folders
  • Pencils
  • Pens
  • Highlighters
  • Calculators (basic or scientific)
  • Rulers

**These Items can be new or used.

The economy has hit us all in the past couple years and we all may have had to cut back in one way or other, but please keep in mind how blessed you are and that there is always someone that is with us in the good and bad times......JESUS.

Plans to spread HOPE !!

The past several weeks have been awesome!! I have been able to meet with several group homes to find out their needs and to commit to volunteering my time with them this summer. I have also been able to gain many contacts in the upstate and will continue to reach out and connect with youth and spread hope!! It will be a blast...and again to all who may be or may know someone that may be interested in volunteering please feel free to contact me.

  • I John 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

This verse really touches me when I think of all that Jesus sacrificed for me. He has been with me through so many highs and lows in life. I then realize what I need to do in return to show my love for him.

First and foremost I am thanking God for guiding me along the path that has been "my life" and for loving with me so that I could be who I am today!! A big thank you to all who have inspired me and are supportive of me in this step to help others. I will soon be making a huge leap in this organization by spending time with those who are in need of love and may not have anyone else to support them. There will be updates, photos, and videos along the way!! Please feel free to send me any ideas and let me know if you will be willing to help in any way. Until then......~Thanks~
