Sponsor a Child.....Make a Difference this Holiday

Well the time of year that we all love has arrived, a time for remembering Christ’s birth long ago!! It is the time when our love and thankfulness is very abundant. A time of year that we show compassion and our hearts “warm“ with each gift we give to others.

I am asking you to open your heart to those in need this Christmas. The holidays are a difficult time for the children and youth in our Upstate’s shelters. These children do not have a “family” to spend time with during the holidays. Let’s help these children experience Christmas by showing them that there are others that care for them. (Even though they do not have a family) All of the workers at these shelters do there best to show love and compassion for these kids on a daily basis, but the kids need to see that we care. This is where many of us can step in and help give hope this holiday season.

Many of you can remember creating a “Wish List” for Santa when you were kids!! I know many of you reading this have children of you own who are working on that list right now…there is a glow in their eyes each time they think of something else to add to it. The children and youth in the shelters are no different…they also have a growing wish list! Yes, I know…just as each of you know… that Christmas is not all about gifts. I do know that most of us love to and look forward to “giving” gifts this time each year!

In the next few weeks, I will be posting “Wish Lists” from children and youth that live in our local Upstate shelters. The names on each list will be changed for security purposes, so please no “Initial/Monogram” gifts. Keep in mind that it is our place to step up and Love one Another!!!!
